Shrink Pots

I haven’t been making shrink pots for very long but I do really enjoy making them. I hollow out a freshly cut branch and then fit a pre-dried bottom into the end. All wood shrinks as it dries so the hollowed out cylinder shrinks on to the already dry bottom sealing the pot.

When I get round to it I’ll make some lids so they can be used as herb pots but in the mean time they look great with almost anything in them, pencils, dry grasses etc. Use your imagination…

 

These ones go for about £10 each, depending on the size. Lidded ones probably more depending on how long it takes to make the lids. I have this feeling they’ll be very fiddly…
